Britain needs a clear Conservative win

This is the most important election for a generation. Not just for those who can vote but for future generations too.

We face an economy mired in debt which we have to get moving. A society with too much breakdown which we need to transform. Our political system in a mess, which we need to clean up - and cut the costs.

The big question, the real question is who can get the job done.

Gordon Brown can’t do it. He’s had 13 years and made things worse. He’s sinking – and clinging to the Lib Dems as his life-raft.

But a hung parliament won't get the job done. It would be dominated by haggling, not decision making.

The best way - the only way to get the job done is to have a decisive Conservative victory.

A vote for Nick Clegg is a vote for Gordon Brown.

Never mind that contrived artificial TV debate. Look at who is going to be the strongest leader. Yes Clegg comes over as a nice chap. But who has got the team and the policies to take Britain out of the crisis the country is currently in. David Cameron and the Conservatives.

Gordon Brown is using Clegg as a life-raft. A hung Parliament, with perhaps Clegg and Cable in cabinet posts will be more of the same. Five more years of Gordon Brown. God forbid! This country needs change and a strong decisive Government with the courage of its convictions. Vote Conservative.

It's good to see the Corporal Jones' mentality breaking out amongst the Tories !

There ! I've reposted the comment that Chris Whiteside saw fit to remove without explanation !

The comment did not appear to break any of the rules - yes it's lighthearted and maybe a touch frivolous, but there is a serious issue behind it. Cameron seems to think that he deserves to be PM by default because of how bad Gordon Brown is - such arrogance ! Clegg impressed in the first leaders' debate and people have responded to that, although many of the Lib Dem policies are very scary.

The attitude of Chris Whiteside here is like the small boy who takes his brand new cricket bat to the park, plays a long innings, doesn't like the way he's given out and storms off home with bat.

I will regard the removal of this post as a clear indication that CW does not believe in the system he purports to support.

Tim, I've explained clearly that during the election period offensive comments or those which have nothing constructive to add will be removed. I don't accept that the "Corporal Jones" comment added anything.

However you have now added some serious comments so I am leaving the second version of the post up even though I disagree with them (apart from removing the double post which I presume was an accident.)

I don't accept that DC thinks he deserves to be PM just because GB is so bad. He is trying to persuade people to elect him because he thinks he can do a better job than any of the alternatives - and I agree with him.

As for the idea that I'm behaving like a little boy taking his cricket bat home - I don't know if you saw some of the other posts that I removed, but I think most reasonable people would consider that I had the right to adopt a stricter comments policy on what is, at the end of the day, my own blog.

If you want to check whether candidates in this election are genuinely committed to real debate, try posting things on Jamie Reed or Clive Jefferson's blogs which are as critical of them as some of the posts I have allowed to stay up here are of me.

I will be fascinated to see whether any of them get through comment moderation (which I don't use)!

Tim, I have tried to blog on Jamie Reed's site on several occasions and have been deleted. I assure you I did not swear or put anything libelous on the comments. He clearly does not want debate, other than that selected by himself.

I did have one attempt at Clive Jefferson with regard to his stunt in front of the Spitfire flown by a heroic Polish airman and it did not even appear in comment waiting to be moderated. It disappeared immediately. So I concur with Chris, he will accept and comment on rational political arguments and is far more tolerant than the opposition, who do not want proper debate. Anything abusive and potentially libelous he has every right to remove.

This blog is not properly appreciated in my opinion.
