"Wars are not won by evacuations."

(Winston Churchill tempering his praise for the success of Operation Dynamo, the Dunkirk evacuation, which began 75 years ago today.)

They are won like this:

"You cannot have your cake and eat it, and enjoy the benefits of the European Union such as the benefits of the single market and free trade if the nation votes to leave the European Union." - Lord Hill

followed by Owen Patterson :

"My deepest respect to Jonathan, who I served in the Cabinet with ,but he is totally and utterly wrong. He is a member of the establishment, we all know where they are coming from. We need time to make the case that there is an incredibly optimistic destination.
This idea that trade is synonymous with the European Union is complete and utter tosh, We would under any sane solution continue very active membership of the market."

Also, whilst i do realise i have gone off at a tangent, with todays war rather than yesterdays, I did say "the referendum must be the only game in town"

Anyway back to todays war and off on yet another tangent (good at that) you see for most of my life I have been, as you know an atheist, not really a problem even though i went through an RC school, I cant tell you when it happened as i dont really know myself, I only know i joined St benedicts school as an 11 year old Roman Catholic and I left as a 16 year old atheist.

where are you going Jim?

well, its just today that i found out none other than "Tony Blair" has announced that he is to campaign to fight to keep the UK in the European Union. Yes thats the same Tony Blair as is involved in the complete mishandling of the Iraq situation.

just thinking, hmmmmm, perhaps, just maybe, just on the off chance, as a very outside bet, there may be some sort of God, somewhere.............

Yes, it really helped Ed Miliband to have Tony Blair campaigning for him ...

yup, it really "helped him" a lot when Blair stated he showed real leadership by being unwilling to hold a democratic referendum.

every one knows that "showed real leadership" is policitical jargon, which when translated means "done something no wanted or asked for", well every one except Tony Blair knows that everyone knows that.
