It's a strange place Kenya. You can be British if you like or you could even become the president of the USA

As I understand it Chris Froome was born in Kenya but has now become a British citizen.

I really don't want to get into the "Birther" argument !!!

Are all sub-Saharan Africans welcome to be British? or just the white ones?

I don't know Chris Froome's personal circumstances. It is not practically possible to make British citizenship available to everyone who might like it, so it has to be awarded on the basis of connection with or contribution to Britain.

The colour of a person's skin should not of itself have any effect whatsoever on whether they are eligible for British citizenship.

And when someone has British citizenship, then in my book they are British regardless of where they were born or of the colour of their skin.
