Dealing with Anger

There is an excellent diary piece in The Scotsman this week by Andrew Wilson which reflects on "our angry nation."

That is intended as a reference to Scotland but nearly everything in the piece applies to the United Kingdom as a whole. Andrew Wilson argues

"that we would all do very well to expend a lot more energy on being gentler on one another and on telling people when they are alive how much they matter. We waste too much time focusing on small niggles when we should recognise the big positives in life and those we share it with."

Absolutely. As a resident of Cumbria who was lucky enough not to be flooded out last weekend, but is only too well aware of how many other people were hit, I am counting my blessings at the moment. Most of us have many things to be grateful for.
